Meet Wendy

Wendy from UUendy's Crafty Corner is our sponsor today for a wonderful sneak attack that starts at 5pm Etsy time! Wendy has been a sponsor in the past and ALWAYS finds the neatest new Etsy shops to introduce us to.

Wendy makes so many adorable items that she has available in her shop. I asked her where she got her inspiration:

From items I see in catalogs, here on Etsy, in stores, magazines. The earrings I sell here because I couldn't find anything that was sturdy for my granddaughter. Kits. I do my crafts for relaxation. What isn't a gift becomes an item to sell. I can't keep all of this stuff.

I recently purchased an adorable bracelet for one of my granddaughters from Wendy. Since she can make them to any size you need - this would be a perfect time to order one for MOM for Mother's Day!

You can find just the right 'gift' in Wendy's shop. And be sure to come on over to our Sneak Attack thread, meet our members, and join in the fun as we get ready to meet and greet some new Etsy shops!

Meet Ros and Sandi

Today's sneak attack is being co-sponsored by Ros from Painted Memories by Ros and Sandi from Handmade By Sandi

Ros does wonderful painting using watercolors and charcoal as her favorite mediums. And then using those paintings, Ros has created greeting cards!

Says Ros:

The subject matter of some of my cards is the rural landscapes and barns in Montgomery Township in New Jersey where I once lived near Princeton. Much of that area has since been developed and many of the scenes that were painted no longer exist. My paintings are one way the history of the area has been recorded.

I love her barns!

One of Sandi's obsessions is earrings. She loves to make them and wear them! Always looking for cute charms to use in her earrings - Sandi has discovered adorable polymer clay charms that look neat when used for earrings. Here are her latest:

Be sure to check out Ros' shop - she is having a fantastic sale for the next month. And be sure to see the other earrings that are being offered in Sandi's shop.

Then come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread as we get ready to meet and greet 3 new Etsy shops. The attack starts at 7pm - but you are welcome to join us during the day!

Meet Sandi

Today's Sneak Attack is being sponsored by Sandi from Handmade By Sandi

Sandi is a frequent sponsor and has been a member for a long time! Her passion is yarn of any kind and crocheting.

Sandi has started a new endeavor in her Etsy shop! Pin Cushions that look like cupcakes!

In addition to pin cushions, Sandi crochets hats for cancer patients. Being a cancer survivor, Sandi says:

With the completion of my treatment, and my energy level coming back - I decided to pay it forward, by crocheting hats for other cancer patients. What a wonderful feeling to give back for all the help I received!

Be sure to see the other fine crocheted items in Sandi's Shop and then come and chat with us in our sneak attack thread as we get ready to meet 3 new Etsy shops at 6pm today!

Meet Heather

Today's sneak attack is being sponsored by Heather from Hugs N Sprinkles Gifts

I asked Heather if she had an outside job. She said:

I am a work at home mom; splitting my time between the kids and my shop. I spent many years in warehouse inventory; and will continue that once the kids are in school. That is unless my shop really starts to take off. I would really love to create miniatures as my "job."

And Heather makes the cutest miniatures - I'm always delighted with her new creations. Like this Garden Gnome House!

Find your favorite creation in Heather's shop. And then come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread, where you will find friendly folk, fun clues, and excitement as we get ready to meet the latest 'victims' at 4pm Etsy time!

Meet Kristen

Today's sneak attack at 4pm eastern time - will be sponsored by Kristen of K5Art

Kristen is an artist whose medium is upcycled scrabble tiles! And she does a wonderful job with them! Among her other creations are digital art.

I recently asked Kristen what she does to relax:

Music! I put on some of my favorite music to listen to, which most of the time is either Tegan and Sara, BT, or Tiesto.

Browsing through Kristen's shop I found this digital art that reflects the music she loves!

Come on over to our Sneak Attack thread and join in the fun as we get ready to surprise some new Etsy shops!

Meet Lyndsey and Andrea

We have co-sponsors today for our early sneak attack. The first sponsor is Lyndsey from Countess Ablaze, a member from the UK and a brand new sponsor. The second sponsor is Andrea from The Hobby Room, a member from the US and a long time member and sponsor in our sneak attack team!

I love it when we get a new and a veteran sponsoring together!! Lots of ideas to share and support.

I asked Lyndsey what prompted her to become a sneak attack member.

I was SA'd in Dec '11 and found it to be a wonderful experience that gave me the confidence to stick at it with my little shop. Finding a warm and supportive team has made such a difference and I joined to bring that same support to other newbies on Etsy

Lyndsey hand dyes and hand paints the most luscious looking yarns! Like this one

I asked Andrea - a member for a long time - what prompted her to become a member.

I first got involved with "Sneaking" by being one of the very first "victims" a few years ago, via my charity shop StampOutCancer. I haven't been super involved lately, but enjoy giving back as I can!

Andrea makes the cutest tutus - don't you just love it!

Check out all the great creations from these fab team members, and then come on over and chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread as we get ready to surprise some new Etsy shops at 3pm!

Meet Sandi

Today's sneak attack is sponsored by Sandi from Sandi's Stash Shop.

A veteran at sponsoring and a long time member - Sandi finds being with this group very helpful and endearing - like one big family.

Sandi's shop is filled with destash items - those things that she no longer needs, but that need a good home. One of her favorite items to offer is cross stitch/embroidery kits. She has found some delightful ones over the years, and can't wait to see how it will turn out when finished by one her customers.

I found this pattern in a little out of the way shop - and thought it would make a nice project. I have so many projects going at one time - it seems sad to have this one sit around and wait!

This is a Miniature Knotted Rug Kit - made with all french knots!

There are a number of other kits available in Sandi's shop - if cross stitch is your thing - you can't go wrong.

Then come chat with us in our Sneak Attack thread as Sandi gives us musical clues about the upcoming victims.

Sneak Attack Shops 4/5/2012

Meet Virginia

Today's sponsor is Virginia from Made By Hand. Virginia has sponsored before and is great at creating treasuries :D

I asked Virginia what prompted her to join our team and help surprise new Etsy shops:

my shop was sneak attacked last October and I was so thrilled that I wanted to pay it forward. I soon discovered how friendly and supportive the team is and that clinched it: I'm an enthusiastic member of the team and I love Sneak Attacks!

Virginia loves to crochet and it shows! I LOVE this hot pad!

Do you have one of Virginia's hot pads yet? Well, if not - get them while they are HOT!

Virginia will be introducing us to 3 new Etsy shops. Come on over and join us at our Sneak Attack Thread for the fun which goes on all day, and then gets even greater at 4pm when Virginia tells us who the 'victims' are!

Monday, April 2, 2012

Meet Susanne

A European Sneak Attack!! Our sponsor today is Susanne from SussesSpindehjrne. Susanne is one of our European members - of which we have many. The shops she has picked to be today's 'victims' are all European! That is so great. And in addition, the attack starts at 1pm Etsy time. A great way to offer a timely sneak attack and some great shops to those members far away from the US.

I am always interested in what prompted one of our members to open their Etsy shop. Susanne said:

I had spun more yarn than I could knit up

I can certainly relate to that!

And by the way, Susanne's spun yarn is divine. Just take a look at this 3 ply yarn that self stripes!

Now that you have decided which yarn of Susanne's you absolutely have to have, come on over and join us in our Sneak Attack thread, while we get ready to meet Susanne's 'victims' at 1pm Etsy time.
