Blast from the Sneak Attack Past May 29, 2013

Every Wednesday Amanda and I are checking in with past Sneak Attack shops to see how they are doing.  Here is what we found this week.

On October 2, 2008 we Sneak Attacked Reworked Designs https://www.etsy.com/shop/ReWorkedDesigns
The shops owner is Michelle Talaski and she creates a variety of items from crocheted items to reworked clothing and bags.  She started out with 0 sales, received 11 sales during the attack and, today she has over 4366 sales.

This is what Michelle had to say about the attack:
Honestly, the sneak attack was one of the greatest surprises. I wasn't too confident in opening the shop and getting sales and things like that and the sneak attack really helped to boost my confidence and realize that I really could do my own little shop! Currently Etsy is the only venue I am selling at - other than a few regular customers that own their own regular storefront shops that purchase items for resale in their shops.... I have checked out a couple of the other online sites for selling and just seem to like the way Etsy has their set-up. The biggest thing I'd like to pass on to the team would be that I think the sneak attacks are one of the best confidence boosters for any new seller on Etsy... you not only get to experience the sales and how that feels, but you also get confidence knowing that people are actually looking at the items that you list on here.

It is so wonderful to hear from past “victims”.  It helps keep us focused and is encouraging to keep sneaking on.
One of my favorite bags:

Take a look around her shop and pick out your own favorites of her 891 items.

See you next week!  Kelly

On October 16, 2008 Rachel from rachelherzog.etsy.com was Sneaked Attacked with love from the Handmade Movement team.  She creates fun unique upcycled and recycled items.  Rachel was so kind to offer 20% off coupon code to our readers, use coupon code; SNEAKATTACKSRULE no minimum purchase required.

Here’s what Rachel shared about how the Sneak Attack affected her shop;
“I have said that the Sneak Attack Team Kick-Started my shop. It totally surprised me because I didn't even now the Handmade Movement Team existed. I was SO grateful for the sneak attack. It gave me the confidence to list more, then sell more, list, sell, list, sell. The first two years on Etsy I was very busy with online sales. From there I got more confidence, and started participating in craft shows. After my sneak attack I participated in Sneak Attacking other shops. From that initial attack, I have moved from Upcycled Felted Pouches, to using vintage buttons and keys, to different size pouches, totes, tooth fairy pillows, upcycled felted cashmere scarves, and fingerless gloves. To now start using waxed canvas and making zippered pouches. Next on the agenda is waxed canvas totes. I appreciate and love what you guys do! Thanks Handmade Movement Team. You gave me the confidence to keep on sewing and selling.”

Check out that adorable upcycled Owl ornament! Rachel’s shop started with zero sales before the Sneak Attack, she got 5 sales from it. Today her shop has 456 sales.

I personally love hearing from these past Sneak Attack shops, I know the entire Handmade Movement enjoys it as well.  We wish these shops continued success.

Until next time,
