Blast from the Sneak Attacks Past November 20, 2013

This week I had the pleasure of chatting with Diana, from Skinplicity! Diana creates organic vegan handmade soaps and natural skin care products! She carries something for everyone on your wish list this Holiday season including; lotions, perfumes, lip balms, shave soaps, and sugar scrubs.

Skinplicity was Sneak Attacked with love from the Handmade Movement team on July 27, 2009, Diana's shop was only 4 months old at the time. She received 19 sales from the Sneak Attack and today her shop has over 1,200 sales!

This Spa Gift Basket makes a wonderful Christmas present! I recently asked Diana how the Sneak Attack affected her shop and here's what she shared;

"The sneak attack launched my shop in the Etsy world! I gained much needed exposure and credibility. I was so grateful to the team for including me and helping me create my online presence that has now moved forward to the next step, opening my own retail storefront!

I was so surprised and happy that I was included, I felt like I had angels looking out for me!

I sell online exclusively through Etsy, I do have my own website that is more informational and directs customers to Etsy. I am in the process of opening a retail storefront, hopefully to be opened November 13th.

I would just like to say keep up the good work, you make peoples lives brighter!"

That is wonderful, a retail store front!!! How exciting! Stop by Skinplicity to pick a few favorites of your own and get a few stocking stuffers. These owl soaps are my favorites. :)

Will be back after the Holidays are over!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year!
See you next Year!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this lovely vintage and craft supply shop, Garbylicious.  Offering a variety of great finds like ornaments, dishes and beads just to name a few.
Garbylicious was sneak attacked on July 30, 2009.  The shop started out with 0 sales and had 6 at the end of the attack.
I asked the shop's owner some questions and this is what she had to say:

The sneak attack was great at the time since I had just joined etsy. I was very happy to get the exposure and the feedback. I am currently selling only on etsy, except for books which I do sell/trade on other sites. I feel like my sales have slowed down in the past year and don't really know what it is attributed to... nor how to change this trend. I deal mostly in vintage items. Thanks for your interest!

These mirror angel ornaments would look wonderful on the tree, reflecting all the beautiful lights.
Take a look around and see if there is something you can check off your gift list or pick up for yourself.

Until next year!  Happy Holidays to all!

Meet Charlie

Charlie, from YukikoDesignsStore is sponsoring our attack today at 2pm.

An international member, Charlie likes to find others from the international community to surprise.

When Charlie first decided to be a sponsor for the sneak attacks, I asked her what she did to relax - as all artists need some down time! She said:

Hmm tuff one, as my other half would say I never relax unless I really have to. Reading a book in a pampering bath, drawing whilst watching Sci-Fi and gaming, which is a rather un relaxing way to relax but it calms my brain.

Well relaxation must have done the trick - take a look at Charlie's latest collection of rings - including these which I just love!

Charlie has other new rings that she has in her shop - be sure to check them all out!

Charlie loves to tell a story as a way of giving us clues to the 'victims', so if you will join us in our Sneak Attack thread, you will find out how the story ends!

Virginia of MadeByHand has made this beautiful treasury of her Sneak Attack "victims"!

Thursday, November 14, 2013

Meet Virginia

Virginia, from MadeByHand, is sponsoring our attack today at 3pm. A frequent sponsor and wonderful helper to our team mates, Virginia always has fun surprising us with delightful new Etsy shops that she has discovered.

Virginia makes all her creations herself! Each item is hand crocheted, by Virginia, with love just for you.  (no workers slaving over a hot machine).

Even though this item is labeled Halloween - your little one will look so adorable in his or her crocheted bib all year long. And since we know bibs get kind of messy - this can be machine or hand washed to look like new!

Check out all the cute items in Virginia's shop. And then come join us in the sneak attack thread to see who the victims will be!

Meet Maria

Maria from MsBittyKnacks is sponsoring our sneak attack today at 11am. Maria loves to sponsor Saturday sneak attacks as that gives all our members who work outside the home, a chance to come in and chat with us before the 'victims' are revealed.

Maria introduced a new product the other day - and it got me thinking about all the creativity, ideas and work that goes into making something brand new and unique. So I asked Maria what went into this one of a kind Christmas decoration.

Ok Merry Me Bugsy, actually he came about a while back like 6 months ago I was practicing doing crochet dolls and I did his head and body, but was distracted with something else and just put it away. Well one of those nights I had bad insomnia, I pulled him out and decided to put the chenille stems and did the face. When I saw how happy he looked I decided what better than a little caroler, so I did the top hat, gloves, boots and tie but since he couldn't stand on his own I put him aside again. Then 2 weekends ago I was pulling out my Christmas mini embellishments and found all the little presents, and remembered the little guy and started playing around until I liked, but still felt something was amiss. So the stocking came about last, I kept thinking one of the best things at Christmas morning is looking at your stocking and it just gathered the whole piece together.

So, for all your crafters - who have UFPs hanging around (Unfinished Projects) - don't despair - inspiration will come along in it's own good time.

Maria has filled her shops with lots of decorations - be sure to browse!

And come join us in our Sneak Attack thread - to see who our 'victims' will be today.

Blast from the Sneak Attack Past November 6, 2013

This week I wanted to share with you the shop Nevertoomuchglitter,  featuring very cute Japanese style nails.
Nevertoomuchglitter was sneak attacked on 06/26/2009 and received 5 sales from the attack on her shop.

I asked the shop's owner to answer some questions and this is what she had to say about the sneak:

The sneak attack was a real surprise for me- it definitely gave me confidence when I was just starting out, and I think it helped to put my shop out there more! At that time, there were very few nail artists on Etsy, so I think getting some sales really helped spark some interest in my category. Now there's a ton of nail artists in tons of different styles!

I am not selling on other venues at the moment but hope to start very soon, before 2014.

Just a big thanks to the team and what they do- it's hard for new folks starting out and introducing their art to the world. especially when you are in a fairly unique category as I was at the time of my Sneak Attack! It gave me a real boost, and for that I thank you all. :D

Best regards,

Much detail goes into each nail making it a true piece of art.
Take a look around this lovely shop and see if there are any nails you would love to have for the holidays or maybe a gift for someone on your list.

Until next time (November 20)......Kelly

This month I had the pleasure to chat with Sandy from EarthlyDelightSoap where she makes natural soaps, bath salts, body butters, and much more. EarthlyDelightSoap was Sneak Attacked with love from the Handmade Movement team on May 9, 2009 which resulted in 41 sales!

I asked Sandy what she thought of the Sneak Attack, here's what she shared;

"The Sneak attack was amazing! I was new to Etsy at the time and more important than the sales for me was the feeling of warmth from a community. The "attack" encouraged me to stick with Etsy and know that the community was there for support. I do sell on other venues, but remain on Etsy because it just feels different than the cold atmosphere of my websites, and keeps my creative juices flowing. I do tons of shopping from all the creative artists and crafters here, so in addition to running my small shop, I just feel like I am home when I am bouncing around, whether purchasing or selling, at my favorite place on the internet: Etsy:)"

I totally agree Sandy, Etsy is my favorite place on the internet too! Today EarthlyDelightSoap is doing great with almost 200 sales, stop by her soap and pick up a few stocking stuffers.

See you next time,

Meet Amanda

Amanda from CuteNCurlyBowtique is sponsoring our sneak attack today at 2pm.

A frequent sponsor, Amanda loves to search for new deserving Etsy shops for us to surprise.

A little bit about the start of Amanda's creations:

In the beginning, I made a few hair bows for Holidays for the girls in my family. It was a hobby. My first bows were very simple. I was always looking for unique one of a kind hair bows for my daughter and nieces. I couldn't find good quality bows in my price range. As time went on I learned how to make different styles.

Amanda's talent has really grown. With a love of all kinds of ribbons, buttons and bows - Amanda has created a delightful collection of the cutest ones for your baby! Don't you just love these bows and the models????

Can you picture your little baby wearing these bows? You will find these and many more in Amanda's shop - it will be so difficult to choose.

And come join us in our Sneak Attack thread as we get some clues from Amanda, about who her 'victims' will be.
