Meet Kelly

Kelly from juBEADlation is sponsoring our Sneak Attack today at 3pm.

A frequent sponsor, Kelly has the knack of finding wonderful new Etsy shops for us to surprise.

I asked Kelly to tell us about her very first sale.

My first sale was less than a month of opening my shop on Etsy. At that time I thought online selling would be easy, was I ever wrong! I was so excited to open my account and see that I made a sale! Of course I was also nervous about shipping it. It wasn't until I joined this team that I made my second sale. I am so grateful to have found all of you. Without this team I surely would of given up. It just goes to show that you don't need to be sneak attacked to get love and support from all of you.

Here are her adorable candy cane earrings!

Kelly's shop is filled with gorgeous earrings, bracelets, necklaces and more. You will want something for each person on your gift list.

Come join us in our Sneak Attack thread - as we get ready to check out the clues that Kelly is providing today to help us guess who her 'victim's will be.

Meet Sandi

Sandi from HandmadeBySandi is sponsoring our sneak attack at 3pm. A long time member, and frequent sponsor - Sandi loves to find new Etsy shops that deserve a helping hand!

Sandi loves to buy handmade and she loves to make things so others can buy handmade as well. She  learned how to crochet at an early age, and is always trying her hand at new patterns. One of her passions is making crocheted felted bowls. This latest one is made with pencil roving - yarn that's a little thick, and can be used as is, or spun to make thinner yarn.

In addition to felted bowls, you will find lots of other handmade items to choose from and now is a great time to start making a gift list and purchasing handmade!

Come join us in our sneak attack thread as we get ready to see who Sandi has chosen for her 'victims'.

Blast from the Sneak Attack Past September 25th

This week I got to visit this cute shop Simply Playing 1.  This adorable shop is full of toys for babies, children and the young of heart made from natural wool yarn that was dyed by plants.

I sent the shops owner, Ann Dolina, a convo about the sneak attack on her shop and this is what she had to say:
I had just opened when my shop was sneak attacked and it was wonderful! They were my first sales and having so many at once was really exciting and affirming that I was creating worthwhile items. So, obviously I was very happy being the recipient of a sneak attack. I have done some other craft sales at Waldorf Schools here in MN, but other than that I sell solely on Etsy. Sneak Attacks are really a great way to help along a new shop and I hope you continue having them.

Warmly,
Ann

Simply Playing 1 started out with 0 sales on May 22, 2009 and received 5 sales from the sneak attack!

I just love this toy and the fact that is made of all natural materials:
Take a look around for yourself and see if there something you could get for an early start to your Christmas list.

On Tuesday the 24th this team celebrated its 5 year anniversary of doing sneak attacks on new and undiscovered shops.  Way to go team!  Without all of our support many new shops would give up.  Here's to many more years to come!

Until next time (October 9)...Kelly

I had the pleasure of checking in with artrepublik, a wonderful shop that has everything from Vintage items to Art. Artrepublik was Sneak Attack on May 25, 2009, receiving four sales from the Sneak.

I really love the ONE of a kind art, it's amazing! Artrepublik was happy to share how the SA affected their shop;

"The sneak attack allowed me to go from being the shop with no activity to a place of business... a Happening place!!! ...and of course it attracted more sales!

The sneak attack was a wonderful experience, I had just started and to have people I did not know encourage me, buy several items and leave wonderful feedbacks was inspiring! I was quite shocked and very thankful for it!

I have had success recently (this year) with people contacting me to purchase paintings, mostly through my Flickr and Facebook pages. I was without a computer for a year(2012) so I had to close the shop for a while but I am back now.

The "sneak attack" is an incredibly original idea, incredibly helpful and motivating. Please keep doing this and all the wonderful other things you do !!! ... I recommend Etsy to anyone and everyone who wants to listen, all the time... You are awesome!"

I can relate, I recommend Etsy to everyone as well. Great handmade items and wonderful community! Stop by artrepublik and pick a few favorites of your own.

Cheers,
Amanda

Meet Susanne

Susanne from SussesSpindehjrne is sponsoring our Sneak Attack today at 3pm.

Susanne loves to sponsor our sneak attacks as it gives her the opportunity to pay it forward, by helping other new Etsy shops be successful.

I'm always interested in finding out how our members/sponsors get started with their creations.  In looking at Susanne's about page - I found this:

Back in 2008, a good colleague came and asked me if I could help her to spin some dog wool, and this opened my eyes to the truly enormous progress that has been on the fiber area.
The Internet has given opportunities to test not just fibers from sheep, but musk ox wool, bison, cashmere and yak has come within reach along with bamboo, sea shell, milk and many more.

Susanne incorporates all different types of fiber for her yarn, roving and creations. This is a shawl that Susanne was in the process of making using cashmere.

No matter whether you like yarn, roving or something handmade to wear, you can find it at Susanne's shop. And after you have found the perfect thing for you - come join us in our Sneak Attack thread to check out the clues for our latest 'victims'.

Meet Theresa

Theresa from KraftyGrannysHome is sponsoring our Sneak Attack today at 3pm.

A frequent sponsor, Theresa always finds the cutest shops for us to surprise.

I recently asked Theresa to tell us about her very first sale on Etsy.

My first sale was to Ros, one of my frog security blankets, on Nov 3, 2011 when my shop was Sneak Attacked I also had another purchase from Wendy on the same day, a set of potholders. My husband and I had were out playing golf that day, when I got home and checked my shop and found out I had been Attacked and sold something I was dancing with joy. It was such a great feeling to know someone liked what I made. Boy I couldn't join the team fast enough, I wanted to spread that feeling to others. I couldn't thank my DIL enough for telling me about Etsy as I had tried Ebay and gave up on it.

Theresa has so much more than security blankets - find your favorite items. And then come join us in our Sneak Attack thread as we find out what clues Theresa has for us - to help us find lots of new Etsy shops!

Meet Virginia

Virginia from MadeByHand, is sponsoring our sneak attack today at 3pm. A frequent sponsor you can be sure the shops she introduces today are super!

I asked Virginia if she could tell us a little bit about her very first sale in her Etsy shop.

My very first sale was on October 3rd, 2011 to a sneak attack sponsor: Heather (winemakerssister) -- she bought a Halloween scarf! I remember feeling excited, overwhelmed and not quite sure what to do next! A few moments later I had my second sale to our Captain, Rosella, and I was so appreciative and thankful to this wonderful team that I knew I would join and pay it forward -- and I've been supporting our sneak attacks ever since!

This is such a delightful scarf - I'll bet you can get Virginia to make you one as well!

Be sure to check out all the scarves and other creations that Virginia makes and then come join us in the Sneak Attack thread as we see what kind of clues Virginia gives us to help us guess who her victims will be. (check out her clues - she is already mentioning fiber of some kind)!

Meet EliSe

EliSe from xEsFunThings is our sponsor for today. She is also one of our international members - and loves to find other international Etsy shops for us to surprise!

I asked EliSe to tell us about her first sale:

Actually, I made my first sale the exact day I opened my Etsy shop.
I had no clue at all at that stage how Etsy works, what's important and how to get noticed there. So there I was jumping up and down and really thought I was on to a winner, LOL.

Here is the adorable bracelet set that was EliSe's first sale item. I love the beads and such that she used!

And I can tell you that EliSe is a winner! With lot of enthusiasm EliSe is a very active member of our team. She was also a 'victim' in a sneak attack and loves to pay it forward.

Check out all the wonderful creations in EliSe's shops and then come join us in our sneak attack thread to find out who her 'victims' are!

Blast from the Sneak Attack Past September 11

This week I had the opportunity to visit Love Fibres.  It is an adorable shop featuring knitting patterns for baby booties, hats, stuffed toys, and more.

Love Fibres started out with 0 sales and ended up with 4 sales from the sneak attack on May 5, 2009.

I asked Julie Taylor, the shop's owner, some questions and this is what she had to say about the sneak attack on her shop:
Thanks for your convo. The Sneak Attack was a great confidence boost, as my shop was very new at the time. Since May 2009 my shop has grown in leaps and bounds. I moved on from selling embroidered felt items to selling organic cotton knitted baby accessories. Then it got to the point where I couldn't knit items fast enough, so I started selling the patterns I designed. The pattern sales quickly overtook the finished item sales, so I concentrated solely on the patterns.

I also sell on Ravelry and Craftsy.

Best wishes
Julie

Looking around her shop I found many cute items and wished I knew how to knit.
Take a look around for yourself and check out the cute models she has.

Until next time....Kelly (September 25)

When I contacted Chandi about the affect the SA had on her shop, this is what she shared;

"When I was sneak attacked I was totally shocked! But in a good way!! I was so excited!!! It really gave me the start I needed! Soon after the sneak attack I started receiving other orders! I love selling on Etsy! I currently sell my bows in the salon I work at and here on Etsy.

Thanks so much for the great sneak attack!!! I loved it!!!!"

BudzandBlossoms received 21 sales from the Sneak Attack, today her shop has over 350! That's great! Check out this super cute shop to see for yourself!

We'll see you next time,
Amanda

Meet Susanne

Susanne from SussesSpindehjrne is sponsoring our sneak attack today at 3pm.

A frequent sponsor and an international member, Susanne finds the most wonderful new Etsy shops for us to surprise.

And she makes the most gorgeous roving and yarn.

When Susanne first started sponsoring sneak attacks, I asked her what inspired her selection of colors.

She said: It's often the colors nature has put together.

I have several of her yarns and drool all the time over her rovings! You will too, like this one:

That would be so great used for a felted bowl.

If you love yarn and roving like this team does -  you will fit right in. Choose your favorite or more than 1 - and  think about what you will make with it!

And then come join us in our Sneak Attack thread as we find out all about our upcoming 'victims'.
