Meet Susanne

Susanne, from SussesSpindehjrne is hosting our sneak attack today at 4pm.

I've been asking our frequent hosts to give us a look into how they search for new Etsy shops that might become 'victims'.

Says Susanne:

I find the shops at Ravelry and do some Etsy searching with keyword I love. And finally I can look into Snoopy789

And Susanne does such a great job finding just those perfect new shops for us to see.

I love browsing through Susanne's shop. And today I found these silk hankies. Really very fine silk thread that you can use to spin - or if you don't want to spin the silk - draft it and use to knit.

There is always something new in Susanne's shop.

For those of you not familiar with our Snoopy789 - it's where we have favorite shops that we have picked from the Challenge treasuries as well as ones found by our members who might be good victims. Be sure to check back often - when you are thinking about becoming a host.

Come join us in our Sneak Attack thread for lots of fun and clues - can you guess who the 'victims' will be?

Blast from the Sneak Attack Past April 28, 2014

Lucky me, once more I had the pleasure to visit a fiber shop, tiny Dino Studios'  attacked back at March 7th, 2011. Please look at this shop name once more, isn't it a sweet and funny name.

Marla told me the following:

The sneak attack was a great kick start to my shop--and it was so flattering. I was dazed and grateful for weeks!

I am mostly selling online and at my local farmers market. I am in negotiations with my local yarn shop, but a lot of that is on hold until after I have my baby in April.

Marla is having a baby this month so exiting and what a lucky baby, who can enjoy all that wool.

Me of course loves the fibers a lot, but Marla have hand-dyed yarn as well and I´m bad about that.

If you are looking for fabulous colors in yarn and fibers you should check tiny dino studios out.

Susanne and I are going to start posting the Blast from the Sneak Attacks Past every other Monday from now on.

I had the chance of chatting with Kristi from KleanKristi, she makes the most gorgeous soaps, lotions, lip balms, sugar scrubs, nail polish, bath bombs, and much more.

What a fun gift this butter popcorn soap would be! Kristi's shop was Sneak Attacked on April 25, 2011. Today KleanKristi has over 1,200 sales, that's amazing! When I asked how the Sneak Attack affected her shop, here's what she shared;

The sneak attack made me aware that there were teams out there that worked together to promote each others shops which I had NO CLUE about and had been floundering about for months with no sales and not knowing what to do.

My reaction was pure elation and an awareness of what was out there!!

I have just started putted my feelers out there on some other SEOs like Weheartit, Kharity, and Bitdazzle. and have seen a HUGE increase in traffic and sales since.

Keep up the good work. I believe you all have jump started my business into something that is rolling along pretty well now. :) Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

It's so wonderful to hear that, I'm glad your shop is doing so well. Someone in my family would love this Spring nail polish set, lovely colors for Spring and Summer. Stop by Kristi's shop and pick a few favorites of your own.

Meet Georgia and EliSe

Georgia from TheMintButton and EliSe from xEsFunThings, have teamed up today to host our Sneak Attack at 3pm.

A recent 'victim' herself, Georgia has decided to take the plunge and become a host as well.

I am always curious as to why Etsy shops get named the way they do. Says Georgia:

My darling grandmother passed away almost 3 years ago. She was THE mother in my house growing up and i loved her more than i can describe with words. Among the things she left behind was a sewing box which had 2 little mint colored buttons in it from a dress she once had. These buttons were the first pair of earrings i made. So it was a suitable name and a tribute.

I love these earrings from Georgia's shop - I have a pair and they remind me of skeins of yarn!

Of course EliSe is a 'veteran' host as well as a team member who loves to teach new hosts how to have a successful sneak attack. Thanks EliSe for your training.

I asked EliSe what she looks for in new Etsy shops to be her 'victims'.

Being one of the international members, in my shop selection I always aim for:
Shops that ship 'everywhere else'
Shops on either side of the big pond (left or right of the USA)
Shipping costs that are about the same no mather where you live (opposed to 0.00 domestic and 12.00 international for example)

I always have 'fun' browsing through EliSe's shop. Since I'm kind of obsessed with earrings - I think these would be perfect for my collection!

Be sure to browse both Georgia's and EliSe's shops for perfect gifts and obsessions!! And come join us in our sneak attack thread as we try to guess who their 'victims' will be today.

Meet Charlie

Charlie from TearfulTenshi is hosting our sneak attack today at 3pm.

One of our international hosts - Charlie loves to find new international Etsy shops to surprise!!

Charlie recently changed the name of her shop - because her focus changed. She now donates 50% - 100% of her profit to her favorite charities - Mencap (The Leading UK charity for people with a learning disability) and Marie Curie Cancer Care (Home care for people with terminal illnesses). What wonderful causes. Thanks Charlie!!

In browsing Charlie's shop this morning, I found these adorable Sweet Lolitta Purses! They are so cute and useful, and purchasing one will help Charlie's charities.

Lots of other goodies await you in Charlie's shop!

Come join us in our Sneak Attack thread to see what kind of clues Charlie has for us today! Can you guess the name of one of her victims?

Meet Sandi

Sandi from HandmadeBySandi is hosting our sneak attack today at 3pm. Sandi loves to be a hostess, and loves to find new Etsy shops to surprise.

I asked Sandi how she selects her 'victims'.

I use Snoopy789 a lot, as new shops are always being added there. I also love to find fiber shops in Ravelry (the Etsy Shops Group Forum) - Heather - one of our other members mentioned that it was a good way to find new ones.

Sandi loves to crochet and sew - and you can always find something adorable, unique and useful in her shop.

In keeping with the purple theme for today - I just love this little crocheted bowl! Perfect for paperclips on the desk, jewelry on the dressing or just about anything else.

Be sure to check out all the useful and creative items in Sandi's shop. And then come join us in our sneak attack thread as we find out who our 'victims' will be later today.

Meet Maria

Maria from MsBittyKnacks is hosting our sneak attack today at 11am. A fan of Saturday sneaks, Maria loves to see many of our members who work during the week - join us on the weekend for lots of fun.

I recently asked Maria to tell us how she finds her 'victims'.

The way I look for shops is usually doing random searches of things I like. I also like to check the treasuries (challenge) from previous sneaks.

And there are always lots of shops found by our members when doing the challenge treasuries!!

I always enjoy browsing Maria's shop to see what new and adorable creations she has come up with. I just love this one - you will too!

There is always something you have to have in Maria's shop! Have fun browsing...

And then come join us in our Sneak Attack thread today - to find out who our latest 'victims' are.

Shannon of SGeoliJonesCreations made another lovely treasury of today's "Victims"

Meet Theresa

Theresa from KraftyGrannysHome is hosting our Sneak Attack today at 3pm Etsy time.

A frequent hostess - I asked Theresa how she selects the shops who will be her 'victims'.

Here are a couple of tips:

#1 - If I want to include a soap shop in my attack I will search for soap related teams and check out their newer members.

#2 - I also check out Snoopy789 if I am stuck on finding a certain type of shop.

Watch for more tips on hosting a sneak attack - it's easy and fun - try it!

I checked out Theresa's shop this morning, and found this delightful card. With Mother's Day right around the corner - this card will gladden any heart.

Theresa always has new creations in her shop - browse often!

Come join us in our Sneak Attack thread as we are challenged by Theresa to see if we can guess who her 'victims' will be.

Virginia from MadeByHand is hosting our sneak attack today at 3pm Etsy time.

Virginia and I have a lot in common - she lives in San Diego, I used to live in California and visit there all the time.

She is retired and so am I. And our husbands are retired as well. Virginia loves to crochet and so do I. What more can you ask for in a friend!!

And speaking of crochet - Virginia has done it again, coming up with an absolutely adorable creation. I just love the button eye!

Check out all the other wonderful creations in Virginia's shop and then come join us in our sneak attack thread as we get ready to meet 5 wonderful new 'victims' that Virginia has selected for us to surprise.

Blast from the Sneak Attack Past April 2, 2014

This week I had the pleasure of chatting with Simon from CrazyBearStudio, he creates customs cards, stationary, and prints. They are printed with hand set wood and metal letterpress type.

I know someone that would love this print! CrazyBearStudio was Sneak Attacks on March 10, 2011 and received 4 sales from the attack. I ask Simon how the Sneak Attack affected his shop and here's what he shared;

How did the sneak attack affect your shop?
The Sneak attack brought more views, likes and even a couple of sales! It also made me aware of the sneak attack movement.

What was your reaction to the sneak attack?
My reaction - pure joy of course!

Are you selling on other venues?
Yes, I'm currently selling on another venue online.

Comments you would like us to pass on to the team?
Keep up the good work...:)

Thank you Simon, it was great hearing from you. I personally love this note card; bright, colorful, and awesome. :) Stop by CrazyBearStudio, pick a few favorites of your own. Check out Simon's blog as well, see what he is currently working on.

See you next time,

This week it was my pleasure to visit Sweet Notion, who was attacked July the second in 2011.

I asked Candice some questions and here is what she says:

How did the sneak attack affect your shop?

I was sneak attached probably within two weeks of me opening my shop. So that for me was an amazing creative boost.

What was your reaction to the sneak attack?

It made me want to offer more in my shop. Which made me learn. I wasn't at that time making the beaded earrings, it was mostly felt pins and brooches. But I'm so glad I learned a new craft. My beaded earrings are unique and colorful.

Are you selling on other venues?

I have done hometown craft fairs, and have had a few displays in local shops.
Comments you would like us to pass on to the team?

I think that what the team does is priceless. When your new to selling your craft you feel vulnerable and unsure of yourself. So to have a group of fellow artists appreciate and complement what you do is wonderfully motivating.

Thanks so much for picking my shop, and pushing me to better things.

Thanks Again- Candice Osborne of Sweet Notion

Candice has a shop with beautiful jewelry and they all are great gift ideas for Mother’s Day, How about those great earrings aren't they amazing!

If you are looking for beautiful gifts for someone you care for, you should take your time to visit Candice´s Sweet Notions.
